Former Chippa united head coach Morgan Mammila has cut ties with the Limpopo based side Baroka fc after just two games.
As confirmed by the Limpopo outfit, Mammila has been released from his duties as the coach of the side with immediate effect following his resignation.
Earlier this week, there was an urgent meeting at Baroka where Mammila had to answer to club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele for the team’s slow start to the season.
Bakgaga were defeated 4-1 by Upington City last weekend and Mphahlele wasn’t happy about the team’s performance.
In their first match of the season, Bakgaga drew 1-1 with Orbit College FC and the former Telkom Knockout champions are in 14th place on the standings.
Initially, Mammila had been given a chance to work with the team during the FIFA international break to try and win the next match against Hungry Lions on September 14.
Baroka have issued a statement confirming the latest developments, with the club now expected to appoint a new coach.
“Baroka football club would like to announce that head coach Morgan Mammila has resigned from his position with immediate effect as of 06th September 2024.
“Coach Mammila has been with the club during the PSL promotion playoffs and he was in charge of the first two games of our 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.
“We wish coach Mammila all the best in his future endeavours,” read the statement.
