MLS side St Louis City could be set to part ways with Njabulo Blom after the player was suspended due to certain reasons.

The St Louis City midfielder appears to have fallen out of favour at the club after the appointment of interim coach John Hackworth, who replaced South African manager Bradley Carnell earlier this year.

The former Kaizer Chiefs man made a promising start to the season, featuring in 17 games for his side, before he was handed a one-match ban by the interim manager for a violation of team rules last month.

The 24-year-old has not featured for the team since that decision has been made, and was left out of the matchday squad that beat LA Galaxy by two goals to one on Sunday.

It has been claimed that Blom is no longer a part of Hackworth’s plans for the foreseeable future, and the coach has confirmed that discussions that could lead to the player’s exit are currently underway.

“We are talking to another club right now,” Hackworth said, per GOAL.

The South Africa international is believed to be in the final few months of his current contract, although it does contain the option to be extended by another two years, but the latest reports suggest that option may not be triggered as the midfielder had been offered to several other clubs.

It has further been claimed that there is strong interest in Blom’s services, with the club understood to be willing to offload him.

Blom joined St Louis City from Kaizer Chiefs in 2023, and has since made 47 appearances across all competitions for the Major League Soccer outfit.
