It’s alleged that a 38-year-old man shot two people, a 28-year-old man who was driving a Nissan Almera and a woman passenger (26).
It is said that the suspect turned the gun on himself after the horrific shooting.
Tshwane district police spokesman Captain Johan van Dyk said two people were shot dead, and one is critically injured after the incident.
“Cases of murder, attempted murder, and an inquest have been opened and are under investigation,” he said.
Van Dyk said it’s alleged that a 38-year-old man travelling northbound in a white Kia sedan, stopped, came out of the car, gun in hand, approached a white Nissan Almera, which was boarded by a 28-year-old man who was the driver and a 26-year-old woman passenger.
“The suspect allegedly fired several shots at the Nissan Almera,” he said.
He further said the Almera continued moving forward for almost 150m before it stopped.
Van Dyk said the suspect reportedly committed suicide.
“Emergency medical services responded to the scene, where a 26-year-old woman was declared dead.
“The male driver was stabilised on the scene and transported to Kalafong Hospital in a critical condition,” he said.
