A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 95-year-old gogo in Vleeisboom village, Sekhukhune in Limpopo.
The shocking incident happened on Friday, 9 January.

It’s reported the suspect, known to the victim, allegedly attacked her at her home, armed with a knife, and fled the scene.
Police acted swiftly, tracing and arresting the suspect the next night.
Limpopo Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers expressed shock at the incident, saying the brutality against elderly people won’t be tolerated.
“The arrest of this suspect shows our commitment to bringing perpetrators of gender-based violence to justice, particularly those who prey on our most vulnerable community members,” he said.
“The brutality shown against a 95-year-old gogo is utterly disgusting and will not be tolerated in our province.”
“I commend the investigating team for their swift action in catching the suspect.”

“We will ensure that this case gets the attention it deserves as it goes through the criminal justice system,” said Scheepers.
The suspect faces a rape charge and is expected to appear in Nebo Magistrates Court on Monday, 12 January.
