South African businessman Katiso “TK” Molefe has finally walked out of jail after the Joburg High Court gave him R400 000 bail on Friday, 10 October.

Molefe is the man at the centre of the shocking murder of DJ Sumbody and now he’s back on the streets.

This after the Alexandra Magistrates Court said no bail, but the High court said otherwise and overturned that decision.

Judge Brad Wanless told the court that even though the charges were serious, the state didn’t have real proof that Molefe should stay locked up.

“There’s no objective evidence before this court to show that, should the applicant be granted bail, this would be in conflict with the law,” he said.

He further stated that the Alexandra Magistrates Court got it wrong when it denied Molefe bail.

“The opposition to bail is based on circumstantial evidence, not solid facts,” he added.

Molefe is facing a long list of heavy charges including four counts of murder, four counts of conspiracy to commit murder, possession of illegal guns and bullets and intimidating.

He’s accused of being the mastermind behind the 2022 hit on DJ Sumbody, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka and his bodyguards Sibusiso Mokoena and Sandile Myeza, who were sprayed with bullets in Woodmead, north of Joburg.
