AmaZulu midfielder George Maluleka says he still has a lot of love for Kaizer Chiefs after their MTN8 encounter on Sunday.

Usuthu advanced to the MTN8 final on the away goals rule after it 1-1 on aggregate, with the second leg ending in goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Maluleka picked up the Man of the Match award says their spot in the final was fully deserved over the two legs.

“I’d like to thank the supporters, AmaZulu faithful, the coaching staff, the players, my colleagues, I think we fully deserved the win,” Maluleka told SuperSport TV.

“I think from the first leg as well, again today a game of two halves but fully deserved.

“It was very important that we stick to the game plan and we did, we kept a clean sheet, something that we’re struggling to do but we were able to do that today and we’re through to the final.”

‘Mido’ came up against some of his former teammates and went on to say that he still holds the club close to his heart.

“Ja, it’s always a great pleasure to rub shoulders with the guys again, my former team, I’ve got so much love for the team, the history,” he said.

“The chairman also 78 (birthday), so it’s rich history, I’ve got so much love for the team, lot of respect, no love lost.”
