It has been reported by KickOff Magazine that Kaizer Chiefs target Thabo Cele is expected to return to Poland ahead of the start of the 2022–23 Ekstraklasa season.

Following his maiden season in the Polish Ekstraklasa, Radomiak Radom midfielder Thabo Cele has been linked with a return to South Africa where Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are among the teams to have been credited with an interest in his services in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old had been back in his homeland following the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign but is now believed to have returned, or to be en route to returning to Poland, ahead of the new season, which is set to get underway in less than one month’s time.

That is according to Polish publication Gol24 who report that Cele is expected to return for pre-season training imminently despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future and over a potential return to South Africa.

Cele, who is a graduate of the renowned KZN Football Academy, is a full Bafana Bafana international and was also part of the South Africa U23 squad which took part in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan last year.

To date, he has spent his entire club career in Europe, starting out at Real Sport Clube, Benfica B and Cova da Piedade in Portugal before moving to Poland to join Radomiak Radom in October last year where he signed a two-year deal with the top-flight side.

He made 13 league appearances for the club last season, amassing 610 minutes of playing time, as Radomiak ended the domestic campaign in seventh position on the log, 26 points behind eventual champions Lech Poznań.
