Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star George Lebese is back in training as he looks to revive his career.

He has been clubless since 2020 after he parted ways with the MLS club Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

‘Geeza’ has been focusing on the ‘business’ side of life -including opening a restaurant in Pretoria – but he’s seemingly preparing to continue where he left off in the game.

Lebese recently posted pictures on his Instagram account training alone and wrote: “It’s never over until God says so”.

This would imply his football career is not yet over as one would have thought.

Lebese rose to fame at Amakhosi where he made a total of 177 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 22 assists in his 11-year stay at the club.

It was in 2017 when he moved to his home town club, the Brazilians, and had a two-year stint. He made 16 appearances and only found the back of the net twice for Masandawana.

Sundowns loaned him to cross-town rivals SuperSport United before he headed to the United States.

In 2021, the Mamelodi-born left-footer trained with Swallows hoping to secure a deal, but it’s clear he didn’t do well enough to impress the club.

Now it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
