Mozambican man, Lazarus Antonio (27) who is accused of killing his former girlfriend, Kgaogelo Marota (20), has been remanded in custody until 11 February 2026, pending further investigation.

Antonio briefly appeared in the Temba Magistrate’s Court, where he complained about not receiving his migraine medication through his lawyer.
The magistrate acknowledged the issue and informed correlationctional services, stating it’s their responsibility to provide the necessary medication.

Antonio is also facing charge of attempted murder, related to the stabbing of his current girlfriend at Maubane in Hammanskraal.
