Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Dumisani Zuma could be set for a move back to his home province KwaZulu-Natal ahead of next season.

Zuma is seeking a way out at Chiefs where he is said to be no longer keen to continue despite still having another year remaining on his contract.

The 27-year-old completed his fifth season at Chiefs carrying his second suspension by the club for matters related to off-field matters.

He was initially suspended in November for a case relating to allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was brought back in the New Year after going through the club processes.

However, he again found himself issued with another ban a day after scoring in the 2-1 defeat to Cape Town City which led to him not playing in the last four matches of the season.

His relationship with the club’s caretaker coach Arthur Zwane and the club is already strained.

Zuma’s contribution for the past season has just been three games with a return of a single goal.

Information reaching this website is that AmaZulu has him as a target as a replacement for Siyethemba Sithebe who is moving in the opposite direction.

However, Usuthu will only be keen on the deal if Zuma is coming on a free transfer.

Sithebe is leaving for Naturena on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at the end of next month.

AmaZulu will be releasing plenty of their heavy earners at the end of the season to free up funds to be used for packages of new players.

While AmaZulu’s interest is known, Royal AM are still also observing with interest.

Chiefs are set to decide on the future of Zuma in the next couple of weeks and will preferably want to finalise their incoming players before concluding a way out for him.
