Kickoff Magazine has revealed that Thabo Cele and Kaizer Chiefs is not a closed chapter yet, with his camp believing he would have a good chance of playing for Bafana Bafana if he were to return to South Africa.
It was revealed recently that Amakhosi made an offer of over R1.5 million for the Radomiak midfielder, but the Polish side is determined to hold onto the player.
It’s understood Cele is leaning towards staying in Poland because he is in the plans of the coach at Radomiak and is hoping he can make a bigger move in future in Europe, despite Amakhosi being serious about acquiring his services.
According to insiders, Cele is high on Arthur Zwane’s list of players he wants for the upcoming season and Amakhosi will not give up yet in their pursuit to have the former KZN Academy player on their books.
Cele is yet to break into Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad and could have a better shot at featuring regularly in the team if he were to make a return to local football.
The likes of Yusuf Maart, Ethan Brooks and Jesse Donn have broken into the team since the coach’s appointment and Cele could have a chance of being selected if he were to play locally.
Broos is giving more players from the PSL a chance to prove themselves in the national team and Cele could benefit from making a return to South Africa.
