Kaizer Chiefs have received a major boost ahead of their Saturday’s clash with Mamelodi Sundowns after one of their midfielders was cleared by the league.

Phathutshedzo Nange is back from his two-match ban for the red card he received in Chiefs’ final match of last season against Swallows FC.

The lanky midfielder missed Amakhosi’s opening game against Royal AM last weekend as well as the team’s 3-0 win over Maritzburg United on Tuesday.

Now, Nange is back in contention this weekend’s match after being cleared by the league, and his return couldn’t have come at a better time.

However, Nange will not have it easy as Chiefs have done well in midfield without him in the previous two league matches.

In his absence, coach Arthur Zwane deployed Cole Alexander, Yusuf Maart and Siyethemba in the 1-0 loss to Royal AM.

Zwane would sacrifice Alexander for George Matlou against the Team of Choice although he later had to replace him with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo due to injury.

And with Maart winning the man of the match award against Maritzburg United and Sithebe doing well in his first two matches, chances are that Nange may start on the bench against Sundowns.
