Since the June transfer window opened, Kaizer Chiefs has been one of the most talked about clubs in the Premier Soccer League and the number of players they have been linked with is quite big.
The truth is that Kaizer Chiefs will NOT sign 18 new players.
The purpose for any club to have a long list is the reality that you’ll only secure about half the number of targets on your list.
As The South African reported in the past month, Amakhosi have sealed three deals so far, namely Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu, as well as the Stellenbosch FC duo and Zitha Kwinika and Ashley du Preez.
But three is obviously nowhere near enough for the job to catch the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns as the supreme club on the land.
So why target an excess of 18? Well, getting new deals on the line are dependent on key variables such as the initial approach, a player’s contract or free agency from his existing club, fee request, age, and competition from other possible suitors.
The factors above are therefore the reason that Amakhosi are linked with 18 players when they could eventually secure eight or entirely different names from the list below.
With Sipho Mbule off to Sundowns, and the Swallows trio of Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Dillan Solomons, and Lehlohonolo George Matlou reportedly signed by Amakhosi, here are the remaining 18 targets who could be wearing Chiefs tracksuits before the start of next season.
