Kaizer Chiefs‘ are expected to have the busiest transfer window in the PSL, an overhaul has been promised by the hierarchy and coaching staff.

As it has previously been reported, Kaizer Chiefs were linked with no fewer than five young central defenders before securing Zitha Kwinika from Stellenbosch FC.

We can therefore presume that the club still needs to add one more number five, ideally a left-footed one like the very first target Rushwin Dortely of Cape Town Spurs.

Despite the recent signings of Njabulo Ngcobo and Austin Dube in the central defensive area, it seems like Amakhosi have made central defence a priority.

Other reported targets have been the likes of Veluyeke Zulu, Luke Fleurs, and Ryan Baartman.

Following Baroka’s shock relegation from the PSL last weekend, their squad now looks like a clothing store’s markdown sale.

Additionally, the Polokwane club’s defence has a pair of young players who have caught many admirers with some rather talented defending: Bonginkosi Makume (26) and Denwin Farmer (25).

At 26 years old and 25 respectively, both central defenders played a combined 48 games this season.

With Bakgaga demoted to the GladAfrica Championship, Kaizer Chiefs are expected to add the duo to the list of targets alongside the likes of Zulu, Fleurs, and Baartman.

As a left-footer, Farmer should be a stronger target if the Glamour Boys fail to secure the 19-year-old Spurs star Dortely.
