Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior says no decision has been made on trialists Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Dove Edmilson.
Chiefs held an open day to the media on Thursday afternoon at Naturena Village with the player beaming and excited ahead of their DStv Premiership opener against Royal AM on Saturday.
Edmilson Dove was spotted training with the club, who are notably still searching for a striker and left-footed centre-back before the transfer window shuts on 22 September.
Bimenyimana, who scored two goals in three pre-season outings is no longer with the club but was informed that a decision would be made on Friday on whether he will be signed.
Two other South African clubs have already shown interest but when asked about the player, Motaung Jr stated there are ‘internal processes’ that need to be followed within the technical team before they make a move for the Burundi international or the former Cape Town City left-back.
He denied they are biding time to find alternative signings that they perhaps rate higher but stated that they have assessed the players thoroughly as management and together with the technical team decide if they are capable of coming in and improving the options already within the Amakhosi squad.
Coach Arthur Zwane also remained coy on the former Cape Town City defender when asked if he will be their latest addition to the squad.
“We’re looking to beef up the squad in certain positions, inviting Dove was a case of just looking at him and we’ll take it from there,” he told journalists.
This website understands Bimenyimana has not heard any feedback since the end of his trial period and has become a bit nervy about his future which is set to be clarified tomorrow.
However, it’s understood if there is no feedback from Chiefs, the player will explore other options as he looks to secure his future ahead of the 2022/23 season.
