Kaizer Chiefs will be meeting some rather interesting opponents in the next month of September. Here’s a look at the events.
Firstly, September is going to be obviously less jam-packed compared to August.
Amakhosi played six games that included trips to Durban, Pretoria, and Cape Town.
The Glamour Boys will be involved in three league games while there is a fourth match that is expected to be added after the MTN8 semi-final draw on Monday.
Nevertheless, each of the confirmed September opponents have delivered interesting stories so far.
AmaZulu (HOME)
The first battle of the spring will be the visit of Usuthu at the FNB Stadium on Saturday 3 September.
Brandon Truter’s side have already turned heads this season with three league wins that include sending Cape Town City out of the MTN8.
Gabadinho Mhango has been Usuthu’s ace with three goals and one assist in six games.
Marumo Gallants (AWAY)
The Usuthu game will be followed by a trip to Gallants. Despite dominating every opponent they’ve faced, including Orlando Pirates, the team known as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are misplaced at the bottom of the log with four defeats in five.
It seems a matter of time before Gallants click in the final third to score the goals their bright football deserves.
SuperSport (HOME)
The final fixture of the month will be the visit of Gavin Hunt’s Matsantsanta.
After leaving Amakhosi under a dark cloud, including a clash with management, surely Hunt will raise his voice a lot higher in the training ground for that game.
