The death of an 8-year-old child has left the community of Gxulu in shock after the young learner was reportedly found to have taken their own life.
The child has been identified as Imibongo Ntamehlo, an 8-year-old Grade 3 learner.

According to reports from the area, the learner had previously told family members that some children at school would laugh at them and call them “ugly.”
