The Kasi-boy has been informed about the transfer fee agreement between Kaizer Chiefs and Zambian club Nchanga Rangers for the services of Christian Saile Basomboli.

While all their other foreign signings Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Edmilson Dove, and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe (who has agreed to a pre-contract and is due to join in July) have all come on free transfers, millions have been paid for Saile (22).

Word reaching this website is that an initial down payment of R2 million has been made.

That amount will double at most if Saile reaches certain scoring and appearance targets during the duration of his contract.

With Chiefs all chaotic upfront, Saile is expected to provide a level of stability and has scoring targets to meet if certain clauses are to be triggered.

A Zambian contact says Rangers feel they have benefited from a player who joined them while they were in the second-tier league.

He then helped them to promotion back to the Zambian Super League after scoring 19 goals and had seven when he left this season.

The transfer paid by Chiefs is still a single figure percentage of the R51 million that Sundowns are reported to have paid for the transfer of Chilean wizard Marcelo Allende.

Allende joined from Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque in a transfer that turned heads in domestic football where transfer fees are always kept a secret.
