Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Gaston Sirino has options to consider as his contract meanders to an end.

Sirino joined Chiefs on a free transfer on a two-year deal at the beginning of last season after having spent six-and-a-half years at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Uruguayan-South African has now moved into the last six months of his deal at Naturena, which allows him to pursue pre-contract options.

Worth considering with Sirino is that he turns 35 in February and hasn’t played from start to finish in all his appearances this term.

His contract situation is not being prioritised at the Soweto giants.

What will matter is the contribution that he makes for the remainder of the season with the side still alive in their pursuit of silverware in the Betway Premiership, Nedbank Cup, and CAF Confederation Cup.

Word is that attention slanting towards his contract will only be activated in May.

What is known is that the 34-year-old is settled with his family in Johannesburg, which will play a crucial factor in determining his future post his current contract at Chiefs.

His contribution in the last third in the Gold and Black jersey stands at five goals and eight assists.

Also of interest this season for Sirino is whether he will be able to continue adding silverware with every season that he has spent playing in South Africa.
