Marumo Gallants have provided an update on the future of midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase, who struggled for regular game time in the 2021/22 season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs player joined Gallants last season and made only three appearances, scoring one goal. Gallants are due to make a decision on his future, with the side seemingly interested in keeping him for at least another season.

“Our squad is still intact. We just need to reinforce here and there. Ntshangase’s contract is still running. He is still part of the team,” media liaison and communications manager Rufus Matsena said to the Siya crew.

Gallants, who will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup in the upcoming season, have not been too busy in the market and are trying to keep most of their players, including the likes of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Katlego Otladisa, who have both been linked with exits.

Miguel Timm left to join Orlando Pirates and this could give Ntshangase a chance to play under new coach Romain Folz.

He has an opportunity to impress the new coach during pre-season, after failing to break into former coach Dan Malesela’s line-up.

The club, meanwhile, confirmed to the Siya crew that they are in the market for a striker.
