Chesley Jaftha played for Chippa United’s reserve team and was shot dead last Friday
Chippa United have confirmed the funeral arrangements keeper for the late goalkeeper Chesley ‘Bhulu’ Jaftha.
Jaftha (23) was gunned down on Friday morning in West End, Northern Areas in Gqeberha.
He previously played for the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge team and was now with sister club Peacemakers who play in the ABC Motsepe League.
Jaftha was born in Extension 22, Northern Areas where he grew up and played his junior football at Fairview Rovers where he played until he moved to Chippa aged 19.
According to club officials, Jaftha will be buried on Saturday in Gelvandale, Gqeberha.
On Wednesday, Chippa United players, and the technical staff led by the club’s general manager Sandiso Mpengesi visited Jaftha’s family to offer their condolences.
