Mother has been left riddled in shock and despair following the tragic kidnapping of her four-month-old baby girl.

The 23-year-old woman, native to Bottlebrush Crescent last laid eyes upon her infant child on the evening of Thursday, 28 November.

Dawn Gounden from Renegades Search and Rescue confirmed the incident.

She said: “The mother was alone with her baby at their place of residence when, at approximately 9pm, two black males, one of whom was in possession of a firearm, forced their entry into the home.”

“They were in search of her boyfriend, who allegedly owed money to the pair. The pair then proceeded to tie her up and cellophane taped her mouth before grabbing the baby and fleeing.”

Gounden urges the community to help locate the missing four-month-old.

“Renegades Search and Rescue humbly request that all community members who are able to assist in finding the baby to utilise their resources and provide assistance wherever they can.”

“As far as we know, the baby has been missing since Thursday, 28 November with specialised units included the K9 unit working hard to find the baby girl.”

“The severity of this case demands confidentially hence we appeal to everyone that can help to contact us or police directly if you have any information,” she said.

A case of kidnapping has been registered with Chatsworth SAPS.

Captain Cheryl Pillay, Chatsworth SAPS communications officer said: “Chatsworth Family Violence, Child Protection Sexual Offences is appealing to the public for assistance or information towards investigations regarding a four-month-old female infant that was kidnapped from the Bottelbrush Informal Settlement in Chatsworth. It is unknown what the baby was wearing at the time of the kidnapping.”
