Former Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United manager has been linked with a shock PSL return.
According to reports, Ernst Middendorp is being lined up for a top coaching job in Gauteng.
Swallows FC coach Dylan Kerr is yet to take charge of a single game in their opening five clashes due to work-permit issues.
And now, new reports suggest the club are growing frustrated and are lining a replacement up in the event the English coach’s papers don’t get sorted out.
“Swallows FC are said to be considering other options as coach Dylan Kerr has struggled to get his work permit sorted.” a Citizen report read.
“It is a tricky situation for the club and leaves them with a conundrum. They now have to make a decision on the coaching issue.” a source told the publication.
“I have heard that they have lined up another coach who could take charge should it come to the extent that Kerr is released or resigns.”
“Phakaaathi has learnt that the new man who is tipped to take over is none other than Ernst Middendorp.” the publication continued.
“The well-travelled Middendorp has been at most of Swallows’ games since they were playing in the relegation playoffs at the end of last season.”
