Former Ukhozi FM presenter and technical producer Mandla “Njinji” Magwaza has sadly passed away.
Njinji (42) from Jozini, northern KZN who left Ukhozi FM in 2024, passed away on Saturday, 24 January in hospital after a short illness.

That was confirmed by his family in a statement released on Saturday.
“The Magwaza family is deeply saddened by the passing of their beloved son, brother, father, husband and family member, Mandla ‘Njinji’ Magwaza. Mandla passed away earlier today in hospital after a short illness.
“The family is shattered by this loss a kindly requests privacy and space as the gather themselves during this difficult time.”
“Further information regarding memorial and funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.”
“The family appreciates the outpouring of love, support and condolences during this time,” statement said.
Njinji shocked many people when he resigned in 2024 after he worked for Ukhozi FM for more than 10 years as radio presenter, technical producer and voiceover.
He was known for his distinctive, bold voice and served as the voice of Ukhozi FM for many years.

He was a technical producer for many shows including midmorning show, Jabulujule presented by Dudu Khoza and Vuka Mzansi breakfast show, presented by Mroza and DJ Sgqemeza.
He was a presenter of Ukhozi FM Urban top 20 on Saturdays.
