A former Betway Premiership referee has weighed in on the key officiating decisions that influenced Kaizer Chiefs’ draw with TS Galaxy on Sunday.
Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless draw against TS Galaxy in their last league game of 2025, a match that will leave Amakhosi feeling unlucky about some of the refereeing decisions which took place in the 90 minutes.

Amakhosi were denied a goal that Flavio Da Silva scored after he was deemed to be offside before receiving the ball.
However, in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, former referee Jerome Damon claimed that the offside decision was incorrect and the goal should have stood.
“The offside decision was incorrect. The goal should have stood. It was a very tight situation in the field made difficult by the position of attackers and defenders across the it,” Damon told the Siya crew.
“TV angles suggest it was offside but without VAR lines ones can never be 100% sure but one has to go with evidence. It was not such an easy decision as pundits and supporters make it out to be.”
When asked about the penalty appeal, where Khulumani Ndamane had made contact with Dillan Solomons in the penalty box, Damon claimed that it was not a foul.
“No penalty . Yes, there was contact which caused the player to go down. It was careless contact, but if there was no contact the ball would be with the goalkeeper.
“A foul is when challenging for the ball in playing distance. So no foul there. If tackle was reckless, a different story,” the former FIFA referee observed.
