Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest wits defender Sifiso Hlanti is trending against the backdrop of his recent Instagram post.

With a career spanning years, he has amassed a huge social media following, often thrusting him into top trends whenever he posts.

Taking to Instagram, Sifiso Hlanti shared a photo posing next to an Iveco bus. The photo has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped online.

The star in the now-viral photo stood next to the passenger’s front seat. However, he captioned the post with fire emojis.

Against the post, Mzansi was more than convincing that he was into transport and logistics. The post comes barely 33 weeks after Sifiso Hlanti shared a photo of sitting in what seems to be an Iveco bus.

He captioned the post, “The law of nature. When you wish good for others. Good things come back to ya.”

Against the news, Sifiso Hlanti hasn’t openly confirmed the news that he is now part of the taxi industry. However, he often shares photos of taxis on his timelines.

Is the former Kaizer Chiefs star now in the taxi business? According to one of SANTCO’s presentations, the taxi industry commands a turnover of over R20 billion annually.

According to the DOT transport survey, the road sector contributes 3.4% to the GDP. The industry is undoubtedly a major contributor, and Sifiso Hlanti gets his fair share from it.

This is not the first time Sifiso Hlanti has made headlines. Last year, he hogged headlines when he confirmed that he runs a car mechanics and panel-beating business in Johannesburg.

The former AmaZulu left-back said, “Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.”

Growing up in Durban, Hlanti fell in love with the round ball and automobiles and has made a fortune from his childhood dreams.

In recent years, he has shared several photos of himself fixing cars on his social media feeds, and Mzansi has always endorsed him.

Little is known about his youth career. However, he started his senior career with Lamontville Golden Arrows in 2011.

He left the club in 2012 when he joined Chippa United but later settled for Thanda Royal Zulu. Sifiso Hlanti left the club for AmaZulu in 2013. After three seasons, he left for Bidvest Wits in 2016.

He undoubtedly enjoyed more game time at Wits and seemingly left as a club legend after over 100 club appearances in 2020.

Sifiso Hlanti joined Moroka Swallows for a season before joining Kaizer Chiefs in 2021. However, the club released the 34-year-old left back in 2024.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star has over 18 club appearances for the national team Bafana Bafana.
