AmaZulu coach Romain Folz has cut a happy smile because he will have Veluyeke Zulu and Gabadinho Mhango back when they host struggling Maritzburg United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday but three players remain sidelined.

Both Zulu and Mhango had served two match bans after they were sent off against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 first leg semi final earlier this month.

They then missed the two matches – against Richards Bay where Usuthu lost 1-0, ending the stint of coach Brandon Truter, and the 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates.

“We get Mhango back in the team and Zulu as well,” said Folz.

“Slowly it is going back to the point where we have everyone available.”

While Mhango and Zulu are back, Usuthu will be without Lehlohonolo Majoro who was left concussed against Pirates on Friday. Dumisani Zuma will also miss the game and same as Bongi Ntuli, who is nursing a knee injury.

“Majoro is having his medical assessment today (Monday) and you saw what happened, it was brutal,” said Folz.

“So he will get his result during the course of the day (Monday).”

After Usuthu played against Pirates, Folz quickly flew back with his team to Durban the following day. He arrived on time to watch Maritzburg United draw with Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

However, this game against Maritzburg comes on the heels of a big match against Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the second leg of the MTN8 semi final on Sunday.

However, Folz said all matches will be treated the same way because he needs points to end the slump the club has had.

“I don’t think my players will take this game as less important as we have a cup game,” Folz added.

“I actually think it is important in the eyes of everyone in the team, players, staff and management.

“The importance of the league is crucial. We understand where we want to be in the league, we understand what we have to do to get there, and it comes with a win on Wednesday.

“My discussion to the players is, let’s focus on the task we have to do first and then we will focus on the next one coming later this week.”
