Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter has joined Swedish side IFK Göteborg.
Baxter, 46, the son of former Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter, had been released by the Amakhosi as part of their massive revamp ahead of the 2022/23 season.

He now returns to his former club after donning the Gothenburg shirt already as a player.
“Welcome to IFK Gothenburg, we say to William Lundin and Lee Baxter,” the club said via a statement.
“One belonged to our academy as a youth player. The other was an A-team player for one season at the beginning of the millennium.

“Now William Lundin, 30, takes his place as the new assistant coach and Lee Baxter, 46, as the goalkeeper coach.
“Lee Baxter played in IFK Gothenburg during the 2004 season alongside Bengt Andersson, among others. During his playing career, he also represented clubs such as Malmö FF, AIK, Glasgow Rangers and Sheffield United.

“Since 2008, he has worked as a goalkeeper coach in AIK, Turkish Genclerbirligi, Danish AGF Aarhus, South African Kaizer Chiefs and the South African national team.”
Baxter worked as goalkeeper coach of Chiefs between February 2018 and June 2022.
