The former Cape Town City goalkeeper, now plying his trade in the Dutch Eredivisie for Groningen, is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Ajax Amsterdam academy graduate made over 90 appearances for Cape Town City during his stay in South Africa.
He managed to keep 32 cleansheets in the PSL and was key in lifting the club’s maiden MTN8 title in 2018.
Peter Leeuwenburgh is open to a return to South Africa however he’ll only consider moving to a ‘big’ club in Mzansi.
”I’m open to moving somewhere else, a return to South Africa would interest me.” The former Cape Town City goalkeeper told Kickoff.

“I would consider it if the right club gave me a call. If one of the bigger clubs would consider me then i would definitely consider them.
“I enjoyed my time in South Africa where I felt appreciated and that is why I would not a rule out a return.”
