Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes are reportedly keen to pay R40 million for Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez.

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly flirting with selling their striker Ashley Du Preez to Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Portuguese side was first linked with the striker in July.

Vitoria are prepared to pay €2 million (R40 million) for the former Stellenbosch FC star in the coming days.

Amakhosi, on the other hand, are prepared to sell Ashley Du Preez only if they suitable replacement.

Kaizer Chiefs are in the market for a quality striker having parted ways with Jasond Gonzalez.

“The Portuguese club is sure about Ashley. They’ve now made an offer for his transfer. But at the moment it’s the Sporting Director dealing with it so it’s hard to know how much the offer is right now.

“But the interest is strong and it will all depend on the negotiations and he could be moving before the transfer period closed,” a source told the publication.

Ashley Du Preez missed the first few days of pre-season in Turkey due to training according to the club.

Reports this week claim that Kaizer Chiefs were considering selling the striker during their pre-season camp in Turkey hence he didn’t train.

Du Preez joined Amakhosi from Stellies in 2022 but hasn’t really found his feet in Johannesburg.

He has scored 10 league goals and four assists from 48 appearances for the Glamour Boys.
