Kaizer Chiefs chairman and founder Kaizer Motaung reacted with pride after his daughter Jessica Motaung was appointed to the FIFA Men’s Football Stakeholders Committee earlier this week.
Jessica Motaung is Chiefs’ marketing director and one of the highest decision-makers at the club, and her position with FIFA will involve engaging clubs, leagues, players, and member associations on key men’s football matters.

Her appointment is a historic milestone, not just for Kaizer Chiefs but for South African football, as she becomes one of the few women from the continent to hold such a prominent position in FIFA’s men’s football governance.

Her role will allow her to influence key decisions affecting clubs, leagues, and players worldwide, highlighting her growing impact on the global game.

In expressing her gratitude, Jessica Motaung thanked a number of bodies for their guidance. “I am excited about this journey and hope to continue learning and sharing my experiences with the continent, ACA, and South African football in general,” she said.
“It is also important to thank the PSL, led by Dr. Irvin Khoza; SAFA under Dr. Danny Jordaan’s tutelage; the African Clubs Association under the chairmanship of Eng. Hersi Said; and the continental football body, CAF, led by Dr. Patrice Motsepe, who has turned the organisation into the thriving entity we have today.”

CAF president Patrice Motsepe was appointed to the FIFA Council and the Bureau of the Council, while SAFA president Danny Jordaan was appointed to the Men’s National Team Competitions Committee, despite his pending legal cases.
