The community of Dawn Park in Ekurhuleni is now living in fear due to a Zimbabwean thug who is dangerous and living around the area.

This follows reports of an armed man allegedly terrorising residents and business owners, striking after sunset and disappearing into the night.

According to police, the suspect has been linked to a string of business robberies and armed muggings, during which victims were robbed of their belongings at gunpoint.

Residents said the attacks have turned once-busy streets into danger zones, with people rushing indoors as night falls.

Police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Majang Skalkie confirmed that officers are urgently seeking the public’s assistance to track down the suspect. He is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.

“The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is known to operate between 7pm and 9pm.

Members of the public are warned not to approach him under any circumstances. If you see him, alert the police immediately,” she Skalkie.

Skalkie urged residents to remain alert, especially during the evening hours, adding that police believe the suspect may not be acting alone.

“We suspect that the individual could be working with others in the area. The community is encouraged to report any suspicious persons or vehicles,” she said.

With fear spreading across the neighbourhood, police have intensified patrols.
