Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has made it clear to the club management that he needs another striker before the start of the current season.
According to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi are believed to have turned their attention to another locally based striker.
Sources in the know have indicated that Chiefs have inquired about Golden Arrows striker Lungelo Nguse with the intention of possibly signing him.
The sources added that the Glamour Boys are preparing for the possibility of missing out on all their other striker targets and since they are looking for a player who could fit the team’s philosophy and culture, then Nguse fits that profile.
“The issue of the striker is causing a bit of panic in the team as the league start approaches.
“There are a few they are looking at including the Yanga SC striker Clement Mzize, but now they have inquired about Golden Arrows striker Lungelo Nguse,” said the Siya source.
“They want to invest and also have a striker who can easily adapt into the system, culture and philosophy of the coach and club. They see Nguse as one of them,” he added.
A second source stated that the new technical team has watched videos of the striker and they feel that if all the other strikers are not signed then they can turn to him.
“The problem is time. Both for the start of the league and the transfer window.
“So they are kind of desperate and after watching his videos then the technical team believes he can do the job for the team at this point in time with the help of the other players who are there.
“That’s why they have inquired about him,” the second Siya source stated.
