Kaizer Chiefs have announced that another player from the club has joined Leicesterford City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Left back Nkosana Mbuthu joined Leicesterford recently on loan for the rest of the campaign from Amakhosi and now the Soweto giants have confirmed that young goalkeeper Bontle Molefe is heading to the same club on a short-term deal.

Molefe’s chances of getting game time in the first team at Chiefs are slim at the moment, with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma ahead of him in the pecking order, so he will now have an opportunity to fight for game time at Leicesterford, who are trying to fight for promotion in the second tier.

Leicesterford, who lost 1-0 to Milford FC earlier this week, are currently in ninth place on the standings in the second tier, nine points behind leaders Milford with 14 matches left to play in the season.

Molefe and Mbuthu will be looking to play a role in the club’s challenge for promotion and return to Naturena next season to fight for their spots in the first team.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship will provide a good platform to gain experience at a competitive level.

Leicesterford, meanwhile, also signed former Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe recently as a free agent. Makaringe has already made two appearances for the side.
