Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 24-year-old forward arrived in South Africa in 2021 after being scouted by Masandawana when he played for Abuja College in his homeland.
But he never got the chance to play for the Pretoria giants and was sent out on loan to play for the University of Pretoria in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Ighodaro also had loan stints in the Betway Premiership with Chippa United, SuperSport United, and, most recently, with AmaZulu FC.
Amakhosi sporting director Kaizer Motaung junior expressed massive excitement about landing the services of the forward, as they hope it will solve their striking problems.
“We warmly welcome Etiosa into the Kaizer Chiefs family,” said Motaung.
“We’re excited that he has joined our journey. His passion, work rate and dedication will surely add to the team this season and beyond.
“We look forward to creating unforgettable moments together in the Gold & Black colours of the Glamour Boys. Here’s to new beginnings and the spirit of Amakhosi.”
The striker has made 97 appearances in the Premier Soccer League and scored 25 goals, according to his new club.
