Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos sent a heartfelt message to Stellenbosch FC and the family of Oshwin Andries after his untimely passing.
Andries sadly passed away last week Saturday after suffering from the injuries of an alleged stabbing after Stellies 3-2 win in the Cape derby a week earlier.

The lanky midfielder, who was born in Stellenbosch, captained the national U20 team at the recent internationals and had made his DStv Premiership debut against Orlando Pirates in October.
Broos, who was in the stands of Andries final game in the Cape derby, sent his condolences to his family, friends, the club and the broader football fraternity.
“First of all, that proves again that life can be cruel,” he said in a video message.
“I think that parents of the world are meant to go before the children. [Here] it’s the opposite.
“And also in the situation that Oshwin was, when he was killed, this is really the most awful thing you can imagine as a parent.
“So, from this place, I want certainly give all my support to the family. I’m a father myself.

“Also I can imagine what that can be for a family to lose someone like that. So, again, I couldn’t understand when I read what has happened.
“And, again, from these players, I want to give all my support and my deepest condolences to the family.”
