Big Zulu, is a South African rapper and songwriter, whose real name is Siyabonga Nene. He gained prominence with the release of his hit single “Donsa Nkabi” in 2016.
Aside from his music career, Big Zulu is also recognized for his acting roles in popular South African TV series such as Isibaya, One Mic, and Uzalo.
In 2020, he gained critical acclaim for his hit song “Mali Eningi” featuring award-winning South African rapper Riky Rick and Intaba Yase Dubai.

Big Zulu, was born on April 7, 1986, in Bergville, South Africa.
Career
Big Zulu’s musical influences come from his upbringing listening to Maskandi and Isichathamiya music.
He was particularly influenced by artists such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Phuzekemizi, and Imithente. Before gaining recognition as a musician, he worked as a taxi driver.
In 2015, Big Zulu signed his first major music contract with Universal Music. His debut album, “Ushun Wenkabi,” was released in 2018 and featured the platinum-selling single “Vuma Dlozi.” His second album, “Ungqongqoshe Woongqongqoshe,” was released in 2019.
The album included the chart-topping single “Ama Million,” which peaked at number 5 on the iTunes chart. The album also received a nomination at the South African Music Awards in 2020.
He followed up with another hit single, “Mali Eningi,” featuring the late South African rapper Riky Rick and Intaba Yase Dubai.
Big Zulu founded his record label, Inkabi Records. The label has signed several artists, including South African singer Mduduzi Ncube.

Personal Life
Big Zulu is in a relationship with Lebogang Makenete and they live together. The couple has a daughter.
However, their relationship has encountered various issues over time. In 2018, Gauteng police arrested Zulu for reportedly assaulting his baby mama.
During their separation, Zulu had an affair with PR guru Bulelwa Nazo, which resulted in the birth of another baby (son Shaka) with Bulie.
