Out-of-favour Orlando Pirates midfielder Lesedi Kapinga could be on the move once again after another Betway Premiership Club have shown interest in signing him.
According to Soccer Laduma, Polokwane City have made an enquiry about the availability of Lesedi Kapinga as they are looking to sign him.
The sources added that Polokwane City’s technical team has identified the former Black Leopards skillful player as an addition that could bolster their squad.
“Polokwane City are trying to bolster their squad for the new season. After ending the last season in position eight they want to improve on that this season and one of the players they are targeting is Orlando Pirates’ Lesedi Kapinga,” said the Siya source.
“You know he is originally from Limpopo in Musina and he would love to go back home. But the move is all subject to negotiations between Polokwane City and Orlando Pirates. That’s why they have inquired about him,” the source added.
Meanwhile, a second Siya source stated that competition at Pirates is keeping Kapinga out of the 20 players for each game day, which could motivate him to move either on loan or permanently, depending on talks between the two clubs.
“He is now competing with regulars like Rele (Mofokeng), (Monnapule) Saleng, Tito (Maswanganyi) and the new recruit Gilberto.
“So, with him and Katlego Otladisa it will be very hard for them to play and that is what could make him want to leave,” said the second source.
“And now that there is a team interested in him it makes things even easier for him as a player but it will all depend on whether the technical team would want to use him along the course of the season as they are playing in many tournaments including in Africa.
“But yet, Polokwane City are interested in him and they have inquired about him,” the second source added.
