Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named his 30-member preliminary squad for their upcoming fixtures against Mozambique and Angola this month.
Orlando Pirates duo Monnapule Saleng (24) and Miguel Timm (30) have earned their first call-ups from the Belgian since his appointment after an excellent run of form with the Buccaneers.
Both players are expected to feature in the MTN8 final on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium which will be the last domestic action until New Year’s eve.
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom has also earned a recall alongside Pyramids forward Fagrie Lakay who was ruled out from the previous squad due to injury.
Seven players will be trimmed for the final squad which will be prepared for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia.
South Africa will face off against Mozambique at the Mbombela Stadium on Thursday 17 November (18h30) before facing Angola three days later at the same arena in Mpumalanga.
