With Kaizer Chiefs struggling to find the back of the net this season, it has been no secret that they’re currently on the market for a new striker.

In a close season exodus, Chiefs released the likes forwards Samir Nurkovic, Bernard Parker as well as the misfiring Lazarous Kambole.

Chiefs then went into the market in an effort to replace those players, and ended up bolstering their attack with two forwards.

The players in question being, of course, Ashley du Preez who signed for the Glamour Boys from Stellenbosch FC as well as Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana who joined much later in the transfer window as a free agent.

With Kaizer Chiefs struggling to find the back of the net this season, it has been no secret that they’re currently on the market for a new striker.

While Bimenyimana has been effective at Chiefs, scoring six goals since his arrivals, he has also proven to be injury prone. The player picked up an injury that saw him miss the Soweto Derby, where Amakhosi created enough chances to stretch their winning margin to beyond one goal.

The culprit in front of goal on the day was du Preez, who failed to convert two guilt-edged opportunities which has been a lingering feature of his game since making the move to Naturena.

“We are ready for Pirates, and we will beat them. We have faith in our abilities as players, and we know what we have, and we will ensure that we compete.

The beer cup is a tournament where fans vote for their favourite stars to form part of the starting line-up, and Ngcobo says he is grateful to the Chiefs faithful as they selected him to face Pirates.

“I always appreciate the support that I get from the Kaizer Chiefs supporters, I appreciate it so much, and I will ensure that I bring my A game,” he declared.

The one-day friendly competition will get underway, with AmaZulu taking on Mamelodi Sundowns in the earlier semifinal at 9:30.

All the four-teams were voted by the fans to participate in the tournament in Soweto

In the week leading to their MTN8 second leg semi-final loss, Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane did not hide the fact that they were still in the market for a striker.

Now if a post from UDM leader and popular Chiefs support General Bantu Holomisa is anything to go by, he seems to have taken it upon himself to help rescue his beloved club by ‘bringing’ them a striker called Balint Bajner according his Facebook post, a possible trialist.

“@KaizerChiefs . I brought #BalintBajner back to reinforce the squad. We have just landed this morning @ortambo_int. Welcome back big man.” Holomisa said.

In a brief exclusive with General Holomisa, he divulged more information on the situation regarding Bajner to The South African News

“(Laughs) I met him (Bajner) in the plane. He said he is heading to Naturena (Chiefs training ground) . Apparently he is no stranger to Naturena”. Holomisa said.

When probed further on what he meant about Bajner not being a stranger to the Chiefs training facilities and whether or not he had been on trial there before?

“So I understand, but he got injured”. He concluded.

It now remains to be seen if Bajner will be seen wearing official Chiefs training gear like another trialist Bradley Cross was seen doing so earlier this morning, watch the space.
