AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has revealed he met for peace talks with Kaizer Chiefs’ Bobby and Jessica Motaung after their clash over Siyethemba Sithebe.
The Usuthu president was left frustrated after Chiefs alleged approached the midfielder before the final six months of his contract, agreeing to join Amakhosi when his deal expires in June.
The situation resulted in Zungu banning the player from playing for Amazulu in the second half of the campaign, while the AmaZulu president was left frustrated with the situation.
“Chiefs weren’t honest in the deal because they agreed terms without the January window being opened in signing a pre-contract,” Zungu said in January.
“In December, when we were on holiday, they had completed everything with him and you know the window only opened on 1 January.
“I told Bobby Motaung that I’m not happy at all about this.”
However, the Usuthu boss now revealed that he met Chiefs’ leadership to resolve the situation, clearing the “bad blood”.
“We enjoy relationships with other clubs, not only Orlando Pirates, yes i used to support them but now they are my competitors,” Zungu told Victor Molefe on Ukhozi FM.
“I enjoy relationship with other teams, we talk with them even now there are talks with TS Galaxy, Cape Town City and others.
“Even Kaizer Chiefs, whatever happens with one of the players, we’ve spoken about it with Bobby and Jessica Motaung, it in the past now, we at peace, so there’s no longer bad blood.”
Meanwhile, Sithebe is expected to join Chiefs on a free transfer after his current deal expires by the end of the June.
