AmaZulu are backing Romain Folz to succeed in his role as the coach of the side despite the results that have come in dribs and drabs for the team.

Folz was appointed as the coach of the Durban-based side in October when he replaced Brandon Truter who was relieved of his duties due to disappointing results by the team.

Folz led Usuthu to the final of the MTN8 although the KwaZulu-Natal giants lost against Orlando Pirates.

Usuthu are seventh on the DStv Premiership log, having won only four from 13 matches and while the French-Moroccan mentor is said to be under pressure to turn the team’s fortunes, sources close to the club have said that the management supports the coach, despite the mentor’s slow start.

“AmaZulu are very impressed with Romain Folz as their club’s head coach. The club is proud to have him and they say he is such a blessing to work with.

“The club is fully supporting the coach and they say he is such a competent coach.

“There is no truth to rumours that the club isn’t pleased with the coach or that he may be fired,” said the source.
