It is believed that Kaizer Chiefs management have opened talks with Lamontville Golden Arrows over Pule Mmodi as they are interested in signing him.
According to Kickoff Magazine, Amakhosi and Arrows just recently started talking despite initial reports that Mmodi to Naturena was a done deal.
Pule Mmodi’s contract with Arrows is coming to an end on 30 June, and the Lamontville-based outfit is yet to take up the one-year option they have on it.
However, with Chiefs interested in the 29-year-old winger, Arrows could be tempted to trigger that option and cash in on him.
In his recent interview, Mmodi spoke about his readiness to take his football career to another level by possibily moving to a bigger club.
In fact, Mmodi said even though he didn’t grow up supporting Chiefs or any team for that matter, he would would like to join them because they are a good team.
“I think it’s my time to move on now. I have an option for one season which would expire at the end of the 2022/23 season.
That’s the option when the new season starts, but we still have things to discuss, we haven’t sat down, just talks with the Chairlady (Mato Madlala) we haven’t sat down or anything,” Mmodi told iDiski Times as per IOL.
“Kaizer Chiefs… I never supported them growing up, I never supported any team but I’m attracted to Chiefs as it’s a good team for me. I can be one of them.”
