The patient was stabilized and received Advanced Life Support intervention while City of Tshwane Firefighters had to use specialized hydrolic equipment (Jaws of life) to free the patient.
Due to the seriousness of their injuries and time entrapped in the wreckage of their vehicle the decision was made to airlift the patient to a specialist Trauma hospital.
2 other patients were assessed on scene and were found to have sustained minor injuries.
TMPD was on scene to assist with traffic.
Thank you to Emer-G-Med, Netcare911, ER24 and City of Tshwane Emergency Services for assisting with the scene.
