A fatal head-on collision between two vehicles on the N2 Canefields near Empangeni last night has claimed the life of one person.
Emergency responders from KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene, where paramedics provided immediate medical treatment to three patients who sustained serious injuries.
Following stabilization at the scene, the injured patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Tragically, one vehicle occupant sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased before emergency services arrived at the scene.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
Authorities urge motorists to exercise caution when traveling on this section of the N2, particularly during nighttime hours.
