Orlando Pirates Football Club on-form attacker has revealed that he grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs, even though he is now playing for ther arch-rivals.
According to The South African, Monnapule Saleng has told the media that throughout his childhood, he has always been a fan of Kaizer Chiefs – not Orlando Pirates.
Monnapule Saleng has been one of the best players in the South African Premier Soccer League since the 2022-23 season began.
He will now get a chance to play in the Soweto derby for the first time this weekend.
The attacking midfielder was then asked by a local journalist, Velile Mnyandu if he really supported Orlando Pirates when he was growing up.
Saleng started by laughing and said “No, no”. He then admitted that he grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs instead.
Monnapule Saleng is surely not the only player who grew up supporting a certain team and is now playing for their arch-rivals.
