Former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa united goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has signed a deal with a new club.
The Nigerian international has been a free agent since parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of July and it’s understood that he has now found a new home at Sekhukhune United.
“He has signed a one-year deal, with an option to renew,” a well-placed source informed the Siya crew.
It is understood that Sekhukhune has been able to sign the experienced campaigner as a local.
Since leaving Amakhosi, Akpeyi had been training on his own, with the help of TS Galaxy goalkeeper coach and compatriot Greg Etafia.
The club already has a competitive goalkeeping department with Toaster Nsabata from Zambia and Ali Bangare of Ivory Coast.
The club is expected to make an on the veteran shot-stopper in the coming days.
