The family wants justice after their beloved brother, Mojalefa Raymond Mpiriane (35), originally from Maboloka in North West, was stabbed to death on 8 February 2026.

They alleged that Mojalefa was stabbed to death by a bouncer from a local club in Brits, North West, at night. They claimed he was stabbed in the chest and was later found dead outside the Brits cop shop.

Mojalefa’s sister, Dineo Lion (30), said that her brother was stabbed following allegations that he allegedly slapped a woman on her buttocks. The woman is believed to be a relative of the bouncer.

“We are heartbroken after losing our brother. It’s hard for us. My brother was stabbed outside the club. We want answers and to know how my brother arrived at the police station,” she said.

She said the suspect is Clement Masire, who appeared in the Brits Magistrate Court and was granted R5 000 bail.

“Clement didn’t have a right to kill my brother. He should have opened a case at the police station rather than taking the law into his own hands,” she said.

She stated that the family needs answers and wants the suspect to tell them the truth.

“My brother was a good, peaceful, and a loving man,” she said.

Dineo said her brother left behind a girlfriend and three kids.

“We want justice for my brother and to see the suspect rot in jail. We didn’t want him to be granted bail by the court. As a family, we are scared that if we visit around Brits, he can harm us,” she said.

Keneilwe Mpiriane (25), another cousin, said: “We are not happy. How can the court give a suspect who killed my brother bail?”

She said that her cousin’s death broke their hearts.

“How can someone take my brother’s life just like that? We still need our brother. The suspect is using the advantage that he has money,” she said.

Keneilwe claimed that the suspect killed Mojalefa intentionally.

“We were very close. I’m sure he was apologising when he was stabbing him. My brother wouldn’t assault anyone. I know him. This man deserves a life sentence,” she said.

Mojalefa’s other sister, Lerato Mpiriane (27), said: “He is not even showing any remorse. I want to ask him why he killed my brother. He was a leader, caring and giving.”

Thapelo Lion (32), a brother-in-law, said: “He loved and cared for his family. We were planning to do business together so that we could help young people and our families.”

North West police spokeswoman Sergeant Kelebogile Morake said: “A case of murder was registered at Brits Police Station on 8 February 2026. The victim is a 35-year-old male, the suspect is 38-year-old Clement Masire.”
