ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said members received numerous calls reporting the shooting.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene and found members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) already in attendance.”

“They were shown a vehicle that had been shot multiple times,” he said.

Jamieson said the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

“The male, believed to be in his 30s, sustained fatal injuries and unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him,” he added.

Jamieson said the area has been cordoned off to allow police to conduct further investigations.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
