Limpopo musician Lehlohonolo Katlego Chauke (31), better known as Shebeshxt, is in trouble.

The controversial hitmaker has reportedly found himself on the wrong side of the law again, this time while in jail.

Reports indicate that Shebeshxt was charged while sitting in the Polokwane holding cells on Tuesday, 10 February.

This after cops allegedly found prohibited items in his possession, including a cellphone, charger, empty sachets with remnants of an unknown substance and a pipe suspected to be used for smoking drugs.

His lawyer, Lot Ramusi, said he’s not aware of this charge and hasn’t received instructions to represent him.

In another case, the Department of Correctional Services confirmed that Shebeshxt was taken from their facility on 23 January to appear in court in Bronkhorstspruit for a previous charge of speeding at 220km/h on the road.

That speeding charge is still separate and hasn’t been added to the mountain of trouble he’s already facing in the Polokwane Magistrates Court.

The star is facing nine serious charges, including three counts of attempted murder.

His bail was denied by the Polokwane Magistrates Court in December.

He appealed the judgment in the Polokwane High Court on 31 December 2025, but the appeal was dismissed on 9 January 2026.

Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said: “The artist is appearing in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 11 February, along with his co-accused.”
